An assisted conversion is a conversion in which a marketing channel has contributed to the user journey. This channel assisted, but that wasn’t the final channel to convert the user.
Assisted Conversion Components:
- Multi-touch attribution
- Conversion path analysis
- Assisting channels vs. last-click
Analytics tools track each interaction a user has before converting. Evaluating which channels are involved earlier in the journey is credited as “assisting” the final action.
Use Cases:
A user clicks a display ad, later returns through organic search, and finally converts via a direct visit. Display receives an assisted conversion.
Assisted conversions give a blueprint of how each channel contributes to overall campaign success.
